In case you had not seen the news already.  The phpbb.com site was hacked recently and the user e-mails and hashed passwords were stolen.  People who had not logged onto phpbb.com in a while and still using a plain MD5 password had their password potentially discovered ( as the hackers could compare passwords with common words encrypted in MD5 ).  It is my understanding that the salted passwords used by phpbb3 ( and similarly Joomla now ) are more secure and less likely to be discovered by brute force methods.  NOTE: I am by no means an expert on this subject so for more detail I recommend verifying information with other sources.

Also NOTE that their site was hacked thru a vulnerabiltiy in their phpList software and NOT in phpbb3 directly.  However as noted in my site's hack job previously and in their site's hack it is apparent that it only takes 1 weak piece of software to let in an intruder who could potentially access all of your site(s) information.

If you have an account on phpbb.com please take the time to update your passwords as per their recommendation... potentially also take the time to review other passwords you may be using on other sites as well.

CB Connector v2.0 has been tested with the CB 1.2 RC releases along the way and actually has some features which require CB 1.2.  Beat has made some awesome improvement in CB for this release... Some of which might enable future CB Connector features.
