CB Connector ( CBC ) v2.5 is ready for an early alpha release. v2.5 is a port of v2.0 from being a Joomla! 1.0.x Community Builder ( CB ) Plugin to being a native CB 1.2.1 plugin. This change enables the CB Connector to work in the various CMS versions that CB works in more easily.
Requirements: - Compatible CMS - Compatible Forum - php 5+ - CB 1.2.1+ NOTE: This version no longer uses the xajax mambot but will run if the mambot is installed.
Compatible CMS Software: - Joomla! 1.0.x - Joomla! 1.5.x - Mambo 4.6.x.
Compatible Forum Software: - phpbb2 - phpbb3 - Categories Hierarchy ( CH )
Software included in Early Alpha Release: - CB Connector v2.5.0 Alpha - CBC Query Module v2.5.0 Alpha - CBC Searchbot v2.5 Alpha ( For Joomla! 1.0.x and Mambo 4.6.x ) - CBC Search Plugin ( For Joomla! 1.5.x )
CBC Wrapper is NOT included in this early Alpha Release.
CBC had a 40+ user alpha test group on previous versions. This did not work too well as most of the testers were simply wanting an earlier download of the product versus do testing and report back findings. As with most other software in Alpha stages or Beta stages the author is generally looking for feedback to help make the program as bug free as possible. Usually in the Beta stage there is a few bugs anticipated, and in the Alpha stage bugs are expected. Although v2.5 is mainly a port of v2.0 I am expecting a few issues to pop up since this plugin is intended to work on multiple CMS platforms. When users are just wanting to get an early release they generally end up disappointed because of the bugs which happen in the early alpha or beta stages. So with that in mind I am starting this thread to solicit people to apply to be on the test team.
So if you are interested in being an Alpha Tester, reply to this thread with information on which features you plan to test as well as any background info that might be helpful in deciding if you would be a good tester. I will likely have a feature list or other similar test matrix prepared for the start of the official testing. |
